ORPHEUS IN THE UNDERWORLD
Toronto City Opera

"Soprano Teresa Tucci's Eurydice was beautifully sung with some astonishing high notes thrown in for good measure. Tucci is a gifted actor with a flare for physical comedy... The fly scene with Tucci was ludicrously lascivious."
- Dawn Martens
"... SHE'S GOT THE NOTES AND THE COLORATURA AND SHE'S A GREAT MOVER...
She also projects, quite tangibly, that sense of dissatisfaction with everyone and everything that is so central to the character (and several other femmes fatales of literary note). She’s also got a flair for comedy."
"The big fly scene with Eurydice is right up there. The pair work brilliantly together and almost match the gold standard for lasciviousness set by Natalie Dessay and Laurent Naouri. Opera’s filthiest scene did not disappoint."

"...the best though was Lascia ch’io pianga from Handel’s Rinaldo. The balance between emotion ands musicality was spot on here. It was deeply moving and technically excellent with some stylish ornamentation in the repeat."
"...and Pâle et blonde showed off Teresa’s acting chops and her excellent coloratura. Not for the first time have I thought someone should put on this opera just so she can sing Ophélie in a full production."
- Johns' Opera Ramblings

"...particularly exuberant physical comedy from Teresa Tucci’s Despina... Tucci navigates the vocal silliness of Despina rather well while singing the straight bits properly. It’s just a pity that there’s no place for her excellent coloratura."
- Johns' Opera Ramblings

Another singer who is clearly a stage animal was coloratura soprano Teresa Tucci as La Fée, the Fairy Godmother. Along with her Six Esprits chorus girl sidekicks, the bejewelled and be-feathered Tucci showed off impressive vocal pyrotechnics and a saucy demeanour.
